Ok... So the long awaited Grindhouse Halloween party went down on Saturday, and If you weren't there... DAMN YOU MISSED ONE HELL OF A PARTY!~ Let me recap the best I can for those of you who missed it... or those of you who don't remember the whole night!~ HAHA
First off... I want to thank The Grindhouse... Kryp, 5:AM, DJ Spins, Dave G., House, Smash, Tinman, Dr. Bush, Jono, Bump, Mike Martin, and Bean. These were the real people who made the night happen and helped do everything which included: building the stage, building the bar, running wire for lights and sound, painting, cleaning, decorating, cooking, and buying everything we needed to make it happen!~ Because of this dedicated crew we will have many more Grindhouse parties in the future in this swank (Sif's word) updated basement venue.
Next off... I need to thank our Security staff. Resident security House and Lunch Box always do an amazing job keeping everyone safe and making sure there are no issues. Jester, Kronik, and Chamber are an amazing crew from Maine that drove 5 hours to come work the show with us. These guys are the shit and did an awesome job... they are by far some of the most dedicated security I have ever seen... and one day I will have the money to actually hire them!~ The Grindhouse thanks you guys for all your help... I hope you know how much it is appreciated!~
Now lets get to the good stuff... The Bands!~ Thanks to all the bands that came out!~ DJ Bump started off the night on the 1s and 2s getting the stage warmed up, and the crowd was lovin it! LLS was the first on... and killed it as they always do. NSP and White Cheddar are amazing artists and just great guys, not to mention they know how to party with the best of us. Always a pleasure to have them bless The Grindhouse!~
Next up was TNT... Now... Right before TNT went on stage an important meeting was held between Kryptik, DJcubed, and the TNT guys. TNT's future was discussed, and an offer was made for the first time ever by F.T.I. Records to acquire and sign a new act to the label. Needless to say right before TNT went on stage Kryptik announced the newest act to F.T.I. Records... TNT!~ You know TNT killed it... as they always do. And you can look forward to TNT doing big things with F.T.I. Records all next year! Get Ready!~
Then of course what would a Grindhouse party be without DRK? Sifolis and Kraz once again destroy the Grindhouse with the sweet sounds of Darken mayhem. What more do I need to say? You know they don't normally play shows or go to parties... and you know what happens when they do!~ I would like to thank Kraz for his help running sound all night... You're the man!~ Jack Beasly also jumped on stage and rocked with DRK for a few of his own songs... And filmed some footage for his new music video for "So Much Funk". What a great set!~
Next up was 5:AM in a gorilla suit... yes that's right... followed by 5:AM in his boxers (we at the Grindhouse are used to this... you may not be). 5:AM's set was fuckin nuts and the party exploded!~ I don't think people were ready for it... They don't do it like 5... Trust me!~
And finally the DV8 debut performance!~ Sporting all black with black ski masks... the newest band to the scene, DV8, performed a high energy set including a Wu-Tang cover that took the whole party by surprise. If you missed this performance... make sure you don't miss the next!~ Yet another strong act pushing F.T.I. Records to the top of the Underground!~ Stay tuned for the date of their next show.
